 Dr. Munteanu graduated from the university of medicine in Bucharest, Romania in 1997. Her quest for the finest in medical training brought her to the United States where she completed her Internal Medicine residency at The Hospital of Saint Raphael in 2002. As an internal Medicine resident she worked with Dr. Rethy in 2001-2002. Dr Munteanu became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 2002.
After finishing her internal medicine residency, Dr. Munteanu practiced in Atlanta, Georgia. Her position there offered her exposure to an extraordinary variety of cases and age groups. At present, Dr. Munteanu is delighted to come back to Connecticut, to join a medical practice for with she has a deep respect and admiration and to be part of a community which she calls “home”.
Dr. Munteanu enjoys working in the primary care setting. Dr. Munteanu enjoys managing diverse and complex medical problems. In addition to the office practice of internal medicine she has much emergency room experience where she has used solid knowledge of evidence-based medicine, medial ethics and medical economics. She finds it intellectually stimulating to integrate knowledge from all medical subspecialties-an activity that can never become a dull routine.
Dr. Munteanu believes in building strong physician-patient relationships based on trust and mutual respect. Her special interest is in women's health, endocrinology and preventive care. She has active admitting privileges at both The Hospital of Saint Raphael and Yale New Haven Hospital.
