 Dr. Charles Rethy graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University. He received his Master's degree, Ph.D. Candidates degree and M.D.degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After graduation, he did his Internal Medicine training at Beth Israel Medical Center as Intern, Resident and Chief Medical Resident.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine and successfully achieved added qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. He was elected Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1997. This distinction recognizes achievements in Internal Medicine, the study of adult medicine. He has been in private practice in Hamden since 1977.
Dr. Rethy is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Yale University School of Medicine. He is actively involved in teaching Yale Medical students and Hospital of Saint Raphael medical residents in his office. He has been a Nominee for Excellence in Teaching Ambulatory Internal Medicine
