Mark L. Schwartz, M.D. graduated from City College of New York and New York Medical College. He trained as an Intern at Metropolitan Hospital in New York and then completed Military Service at the US Public Health Service Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his residency at Montefiore Hospital, Bronx, New York and a fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital in Inflammatory Diseases. Dr. Schwartz began his private practice of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology with New Haven Medical Group.
Dr. Schwartz is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology, AMA, American Society of Internal Medicine, Connecticut State Medical Society and the New Haven County Medical Society. He holds attending privileges at Yale New Haven Hospital and Hospital of St. Raphael. Dr. Schwartz is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine for Yale University School of Medicine.
Dr. Schwartz has received numerous awards and honors over the years for his work in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is a member of Primary Care Physicians Corporation (PCPC) as well as the Laboratory Director for Connecticut Medical Group, LLC. In 2006, Dr. Schwartz received the Annual Award of Appreciation from the Rheumatology fellows at Yale. His interests and hobbies include teaching, community service, gardening, skiing, hiking and biking.
Dr. Schwartz lives in the New Haven area with his wife. He has 3 children and 11 grandchildren.
